I searched the Internet for some information on what kind of films are favoured most. However, this proved to be rather unhelpful and the information wasn’t necessarily very clear. The most I got from the Internet research was that the most favoured types were Action, Chick Flicks, Rom-com’s, Comedy’s, Horror and Gangster. Although after finding this information, I realised that it depends on what type of people you are looking at. Different types of people like different movies so you can’t really categorise what are the most favoured movies.
Despite this I decided to ask around and see what movies were most favoured with in my school. The information I received was as follows:
Comedy’s at 30%, Gangster 20%, Rom-Com 10%, Action 10%, Horror 8% and Thrillers at 18%.
I also asked around to see what the main attraction to a movie was which drew the viewer in. The main features were the actors, if the acting from the beginning is good; the rest of the movie is then almost guaranteed to be good. Also the setting of the movie has to be interesting and it is generally more intriguing if it is somewhere recognisable to the audience. The music with in the scenes of the films is also extremely important as it really can make or break a scene. If the music fits correctly and is also a well known song this automatically will make the scene a success.
