Pearl and Dean

The Pearl and Dean website is fundamentally a site that sells advertising space for producers to promote their merchandise. They can target their ideal audience by choosing to advertise at the start of a film which has an audience that will find the merchandise appealling. For instance, Toy Story 3 ideally attracts children, and their parents to watch. Therefore to advertise 'Lynx' before Toy Story would be quite pointless. More sales would be made if something that was attractive to children was advertised, such as nintendos, sweets and other kids movies.
Considering our movies thriller genre, and the audience it will attract, the advertisments that will be most popular will be a mix of other horror movies, alternative music subtly connected to the genre, and food adverts that will tempt the audience into buying their products. The promoted merchandise must also be appropriate to the rating of the movie, if our movie was rated 'R', it would be entirely pointless to promote childrens clothes at the start, considering these items would not be of interest to the majority of our audience.
