I have done some research into which producers might be suitable to produce, distribute and exhibit our film. I first looked into some movies that had the same genre as ours, to see which producers had produced them. 'The Last Exorcism' was produced by Strike Entertainment, I researched the other films Strike has produced, and a list of thrillers that related to our movie came up, including:Psycho Killer, The Funhouse, Dawn of the Dead and Children of Men. Because they have experience in producing and distributing films of our genre, they would be an appropriate company to choose, as it fits with their ideals.
Another company I researched was Kiss Of Death Productions, as they specialise in producing and exhibiting thrillers. However as I researched them I found that they had had very little films produced, only 1 minor one called 'Meat for Satan's Icebox'. This is not appropriate for our film, as they have had little experience in producing and it will be harder for them to distribute, as they are not well known.Next I researched a company that has experience with producing our direct genre, thrillers aimed at women. Cruise/Wagner Productions produced, distributed and exhibited the film 'The Others'. They were very successful at this and I think that they would be perfect for our movie. They have experience in distributing films of our genre, and 'The Others' managed to reach the cinema and is still massively popular on DVD. Other films include Mission Impossible, Lions for Lambs, and their most recent movie in 2008, Death Race.
To complete this task I found this website very useful, it contains a list of lots of producers for horror and thriller, and more films that relate to these genres/
